Jeff’s story
Jeff Prout has worked in insurance since 2009. Over those years he held several different roles across the industry, and while he learned a great deal, he never felt fully fulfilled by the work. After stepping away in 2022, he came back to the reason he got into insurance in the first place: helping people protect what they have worked so hard to build.
Jeff and his wife, Ketti, have been small business owners themselves, and they know what it feels like to be a smaller customer who doesn’t get the attention that large accounts receive. Prout Insurance Agency grew out of that experience. The goal is simple: give every client, whether a family insuring its first home or a business owner reviewing commercial coverage, the same personal, responsive service.
Today the agency works from its home office at 4300 N. Quinlan Park Rd, Ste. 220, Austin, TX 78732 and serves clients across Texas by phone, email and video. Most of our work is personal insurance (home, auto, umbrella and life), and we continue to help business owners with commercial coverage as well.
Why being independent matters
A captive agent can only offer policies from the one company they represent. As an independent agency, we are appointed with many insurance companies, so we can compare coverage and price across several of them and recommend what actually fits your situation. If your needs change or a carrier’s rates jump at renewal, we can shop your coverage again instead of starting over somewhere new.
That choice matters in Texas, where hail, wind and fast-changing home insurance markets mean the best fit this year may not be the best fit next year. Our job is to explain the differences in plain English, including deductibles, exclusions and the options that are easy to overlook, so you can make a confident decision.

Jeff and Ketti are raising their children, Mason and Mackenzie, here in Texas, and the same things that matter at our own kitchen table, like keeping a roof overhead, getting everyone home safely and planning for the future, are what we help our clients protect.
